Task 4 - Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our target audience would be 15 and upwards because the lower age on the certificate the more people are allowed to go and see the film and we want as much audience as we can get. Our target audience would be mostly male ‘emo’ and metal fans because it is the type of music that thrillers feature and because our film is about the idea of the omniscience of the Devil. Another example of a film like this is Rosemary's Baby or The Exorcist.In the case of The Exorcist this was certified an 18 or x certificate at the time however nowadays I feel it would be classified 15 as the violence is implied rather than visual. This is also the case within our narrative.
Our audience would mostly be made up of students or people who have recently got a job because they have money that is disposable; they have no need to save up huge amount for mortgages etc. The target audience for horror films are generally lower-middle to working class, this is traditionally a genre piece however university students might enjoy it as well bu6t due to the fact that the films feature teenagers and are generally driven by plots concerning young people the audience is limited over the age of 25.
There would probably be a secondary audience of the teenage girls who are the girlfriends or friends of the guys. Perhaps another part of the audience could be there because they like the genre of thriller or maybe a specific director of thrillers for example Alfred Hitchcock or David Fincher director of Se7en and Panic Room.
